South Africa failed to do the basics in the 1st T20 at the Newlands. They was not good in the field which cost them the game. South Africa were at 10-2 when Smith was bowled by Bollinger in the 1st over and Amla was run out when he was trying to take third run. Smith’s woes continued as he floored Watson at the dawn of his swashbuckling 52. Colin Ingram and Duminy made 58 runs partnership to rescue their innings. Duminy’s played a brilliant inning of 67 anchored South Africa to post a respectable total of 146. Wickets tumbled and Amla’s misery multiplied. Some of the side’s shot selection was not good. Duminy was the only silver lining in an otherwise dull campaign for Gary Kirsten’s titans. Miller and Ingram will have to step up to the plate and make their starts count in future games.
